Season Finale with Second Place Finish at Hitit Rally

 

The final round of the Turkish Rally Championship was held on the tarmac stages of Ankara in Hitit Rally. We finished the event second overall with five stage wins to our name. We got caught with dry tyres on the first stage where the rain poured just as we were starting the stage which cost us abour fourty seconds. We managed to claw back sometime however in the end it was not enough. Our competitor and friend Yagiz Avci won the event.

 

The rally was overshadowed by the unpredictible weather conditions on Saturday’s stages where we started off by making the wrong tyre choice. We lost about fourty seconds which was not easy to regain from Yagiz Avci, reigning Turkish champion. We managed to finish the event in second position, which meant that we secured third place overall in the 2014 Turkish Rally Championship. We started off the 2014 season with a goal of gainin experience with the S2000 car and to become a regular podium finisher in the series. We believe we achieved this goal, we also helped our team become champions for the fourth year in a row as well as our teammage Murat Bostanci become champions.
